Big Brother of the Table Tennis Team – WAN Kwok Ho

Since a young age, WAN Kwok Ho has been deeply involved with sports, like basketball, badminton, tennis, ice skating, cycling, etc. At the end, he fell in love with table tennis. Since the year of 2000, he has formed an unbreakable bond with table tennis, playing it purely out of pleasure.

WAN Kwok Ho has started receiving elite training since primary school and he enjoyed playing table tennis ever since then. He said “If I have been drafted into the elite team, I will give it my all!”

Kwok Ho’s determination to be a table tennis player has brought him all the way long till today. He has overcome his weakness - lack of concentration, over and over again throughout the years. “Wash my face, take a zip of water.” replied with his optimistic attitude. He has never once knelt down to any difficulties encountered in training or competitions.

When optimistic Kwok Ho is post with the question “What does table tennis give you?” He lightly replied with “Friendship! Team spirit!” He willingly transfers his own strength to be the support of the team. He said “My forehand is a bit better, so I will teach my fellow teammates the correct techniques of it.” Thus, he is most happy to share his skills and experiences with the juniors for the betterment of the team and being a role model for others.

As an elite player, Kwok Ho always devotes to intensive training, which inevitably reduces his time spending with family. He often jokes that he sees his coaches a lot more often than his parents. However, this cheerful adolescent finds another kind of happiness by building up an intimate relationship with his teammates and coaches.

With graduation around the corner, Kwok Ho has never thought of “retirement” as an option. Undoubtedly, table tennis would become his life-long friend and continue to play an important role in his life.
