由於新型冠狀病毒疫情持續，政府亦於今日宣佈學校農曆新年假期延長至2月17日復課。本會一直將運動員、參與者以及義工健康和安全置於首位，為配合政府防疫措施，減低傳染的風險，本會決定取消即日至2月16日的本地訓練、活動及比賽(香港智障人士體育協會精英A隊訓練班除外，運動員會收到個別通知)。原訂於2月8及15日舉行的第44屆香港特殊奧運會分區田徑賽第四及第五區賽事將會取消。
此外，本會亦將取消所有往來中國內地的交流活動、集訓及比賽，直至另行通知。

The spread of novel coronavirus continues and the HKSAR government announced the extension of Chinese New Year holiday of local schools to 17 February. We, as always, put athletes and participants' health and safety as our top priority. Thus, we have decided to suspend all local training, activities and competitions until 16 February (except Elite Team A of Hong Kong Sports Association for Persons with Intellectual Disability, athletes will receive individual notification on training). Therefore, the 44th SOHK Regional Athletics Meet IV & V originally scheduled on 8 and 15 February will be cancelled accordingly.
Also, all the exchange activities, training camps and competitions held in the Mainland China will also be suspended until further notice.
