The Awards Presentation Ceremony of Cathay 2022 Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards (HKSSA) was held at the Convention Hall of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 18 April. SF&OC received altogether 96 nominations from 46 National Sports Associations in this year's HKSSA. Following voting by judging panels, the media and the public, all 16 winners across four award categories were born. Among the awardees, our table tennis players NG Mui Wui and WONG Ting Ting were awarded the “Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards for Team Event”.

NG Mui Wui and WONG Ting Ting are amongst the core players of the current Table Tennis team. The former athletes has been already a player with rich competition experience, while the latter is a new player who has emerged rapidly in recent years. They both have created brilliant and surprising performances in individual events in recent years, achievements including the "Indonesia 2018 Asian Para Games" and "Tokyo 2020Paralympic Games". The two officially partnered in 2022 to form the Hong Kong women's doubles team was able to capture the gold medal of the "Thailand Para Table Tennis Open 2022" and the "2022 World Para Table Tennis Championships".

The performance of the two is enough to prove once again that as long as they put in efforts and persistence, people with intellectual disabilities can also create unlimited possibilities, set foot on the highest stage of world sports, and at the same time, this conveys positive messages that let the public has a more understanding on this group and abandon the established impression on people with disabilities, which is having a symbolic meaning to the society.
